In the early seasons, Matt and Trey even organized character identities. he joked that they keep deciding to do it because they slowly found writers and animators more talented than them and the voices are all that’s left and if they drop those very central comedies, they could stop paying them all together.
but I heard an interview with Matt Stone on Penn Jilette’s radio show where he said that as they get older they find it hard to do the vocals as well as before and are considering hearing replacements. Trey Parker and Matt Stone still do most of the vocals – Cartman included. Is there a reason for this change? Was he mentioned in the interviews? These days, Cartman sounds different – more like Stan, but deeper.
